Last updated: 29/7/2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the “GoWild” application (the “GoWild”, the “App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data of users and activity organizers (together, “Users”), and describes your rights.
GoWild is a platform that connects individuals who wish to participate in outdoor/nature activities with companies/professionals/organizers who organize such activities (“Organizers”). GoWild does not itself organize activities unless expressly stated otherwise.

2.2 Location data
User location, when you grant permission through your device/operating system settings, or when you enter search/meeting locations. Location data may include:

2.4 Usage and technical data
Technical data necessary for the operation and security of the App, such as basic device and operating system information, app identifiers, logs (error and security event logs), and interaction data related to App features.
2.5 Data provided by Organizers
Organizers may publish activity information. Additionally, an Organizer may attach an external link (URL) that redirects the user to the Organizer’s or a third party’s website. GoWild does not control and bears no responsibility for any malicious intent, security issues, or personal data leakage that may occur on Organizer websites or other third-party websites accessed through such external links.
3. How we collect data
We collect data:
- Directly from you (e.g., during registration/login, profile completion, uploading a photo)
- From your device, based on permissions you grant (e.g., location)
- Via service providers used to support App functions (e.g., Google APIs), as described below
4. Purposes of processing
We use your data to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you
- Communicate with you about operational matters (e.g., verification, notifications, updates)
- Provide search, matching, and activity display features based on location
- Display and manage your profile (including your profile photo)
- Maintain security, prevent abuse/fraud, investigate incidents, and keep logs
- Improve user experience and App functionality
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to requests/claims
5. Legal bases for processing
We process personal data, as applicable, based on:
- Performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps (to provide the Service)
- Your consent (e.g., access to precise location, uploading a profile photo, where required)
- Our legitimate interests (e.g., security, abuse prevention, service improvement), provided your rights do not override such interests
- Compliance with legal obligations (where applicable)
You may withdraw your consent at any time through your device settings (e.g., location permissions) and/or your account settings, where available. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
6. Google APIs (e.g., Google Places API) – Use and Security Controls
GoWild uses Google APIs, including the Google Places API, for features such as location search/suggestions and enrichment of location information.
To protect data and ensure secure use of Google APIs, we implement appropriate technical and organizational measures, including:
- Use of API keys with usage restrictions (e.g., application/package restrictions, referrer/origin restrictions where applicable)
- Limiting API calls to what is strictly necessary for providing the Service
- Access controls for credentials and keys (role-based access where feasible)
- Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
- Monitoring and logging of security events, and mechanisms to detect misuse (e.g., unusual API call patterns)
- Data minimization for location-related functions
Use of Google services is also subject to Google’s terms and policies, which may apply independently of this Policy. When you interact with features powered by Google APIs, Google may process certain data as an independent third party, in accordance with its policies.
7. Organizer external links (redirect links)
GoWild may display external links added by Organizers that lead to third-party websites. GoWild does not control these websites and is not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or security. We recommend that you read the privacy policy of each third-party website you visit.
8. With whom we share data
GoWild does not sell your personal data.
We may share data:
- With Organizers, to the extent necessary for platform operation and your interaction with activities/offers (e.g., profile information or contact details, where required by a feature you choose)
- With service providers/processors (e.g., hosting, support, analytics, maps/location services) acting on our behalf under confidentiality and security obligations
- With public authorities or third parties, where required to comply with lawful requests/obligations or to protect rights and security
9. International transfers
If certain service providers (e.g., cloud services or Google APIs) process data outside Greece/EEA, international transfers may occur. In such cases, we take measures to ensure an adequate level of protection consistent with the applicable framework.
10. Data retention
We retain data for as long as necessary for:
- Providing the Service and managing your account
- Complying with legal obligations
- Resolving disputes and enforcing terms/rights
- Security and abuse prevention
After account deactivation/deletion, we may retain certain data for a limited period if needed for the above purposes.
11. Data security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against loss, unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure, including where appropriate:
- Encryption in transit
- Access controls
